New president, lay member of Standing Committee elected

The Standing Committee of the diocese elected a new president and a new lay member in the wake of the death of Norm Snyder of Good Shepherd, Granbury, who was serving as president at the time of his death on December 18.  In the event of a resignation or death, the canons direct the Standing Committee to elect new members and officers. The clergy of the diocese will gather to take part a conversation on “Living Faithfully in the Provisional” on Thursday, February 7, in DeWolfe Hall at All Saints’, Fort Worth. Bradley Dyche to be installed as rector in Stephenville

In a Celebration of New Ministry, Bishop Scott Mayer will formally install the Rev. Bradley Calloway Dyche as rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Stephenville, at 7 pm Tuesday, January 29. Gingerbread housing development at St. Christopher

The St. Mary Chapter of the  Junior Daughters of the King (JDOK) sponsored a gingerbread house making event on Sunday, December 9, immediately after St. Christopher’s 10:30 am service. Members of St. Elizabeth Chapter of DOK and other members of the parish provided candy, cereals, and other decorations for these buildings.   There were 12 houses with seven children and five adults doing the design work. Former President George H.W. Bush, 94, died Friday, November 30, 2018. His state funeral will be Wednesday, December 5, at the Episcopal Washington National Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, followed by a more private funeral at 10 am Central Time Thursday, December 6, at his home church of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, Houston, where he and Barbara Bush worshiped for more than 50 years.
