Come to Convention and attend one of three workshops on Saturday, November 15. “ The Oldest Profession: In the Beginning was the Word” presented by Kai Ryan and Carol Barnwell from the Episcopal Diocese of Texas will share best practices and engaging ideas for your congregational communications ministry. “Heroes, Prophets, Artists & Nomads: Not one-size-fits-all anymore” is a dialogical workshop on giving with the Rev. Karl Travis of First Presbyterian Church, Fort Worth, engaging with Robert Biehl of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. “Exploring the 21st Century American Religious Frontier: the Church’s New Territory (If we want it)” will explore new approaches for the established institutional church to grapple with dramatic changes in American culture and reach youth and young adults. It’s presented by Mary MacGregor of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and Katie Hays, a Yale and Princeton Divinity-trained minister engaged in the “next church.”

Pre-diocesan convention deanery meetings set
Pre-diocesan convention deanery meetings have been scheduled in all deaneries of the diocese. The meetings are open to all interested people. All convention delegates are expected to attend the meeting in their deanery as part of their leadership role as delegates to the 2014 Diocesan Convention November 14-15 at the Jack Daniels Club at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Mission and Outreach Committee awards 10 grants
The Mission and Outreach Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth has announced a total of $22,054 in matching grants for six ministries within the diocese and grants for four ministries beyond the diocese for 2014. Grants in the Matching Grant Outreach Program for ministry within the diocese totaled $15,261. St. Martin’s invites all to community Festival in the Fields on October 25
St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church will have its third annual Festival in the Fields community festival on October 25, 2014 from 10 am to 4 pm at the church campus at 223 South Pearson Lane, Keller, just south of FM1709 on the border of Southlake and Keller.
