The Rev. Henry Penner to retire January 14

Penner

The Rev. Henry Penner will retire this January; his last work weekend will be January 13-14, 2018. Penner has served St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Keller since his ordination on November 2, 2012.

Penner has served in admirable ways in our diocese: in the Commission on Ministry working with those discerning a call to ministry and in deacon formation; in risk management, where he used his experience from a long career as an insurance producer/risk manager; and with local service organizations to muster the resources of our churches to address the needs of the world.

In early 2017, he retired from a long career as an insurance producer/risk manager for Wortham Insurance in Ft. Worth.

Penner was a member of St. Martin’s since 1992, and later as their deacon, he taught classes, visited those in the hospital, assisted in worship and assisted with church outreach efforts.

Reception to honor Penner

St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church invites you to a retirement reception honoring Penner at 12 pm Sunday, January 14. St. Martin’s 10:30 am worship will be the last time Penner will preach. After retirement, St. Martin’s members can look forward to seeing him and his family at worship in a pew.

Work as hospital chaplain will continue

Penner will continue to serve as chaplain at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine for a day or two each week, with our bishop’s blessing.
