The Arms of God

“The Arms of God,” a video briefly recapping the history of the reorganization and rebuilding of the diocese since 2008, was shown at convention on Saturday November 14 just before Bishop Scott Mayer’s address. The footage of Presiding Bishop Michael Curry sending greeting to Fort Worth was captured by Kathy Mayer on her phone at a reception at the Installation of Bishop Curry  in early November.

I Have Called You

On February 7, 2009, the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth met in a Special Meeting of its Diocesan Convention to reorganize after the departure of its bishop and other leaders from The Episcopal Church. On the 4th anniversary of its reorganization, the diocese commits itself anew to carrying out the mission and ministry of The Episcopal Church in north central Texas.

Our Stories, Ourselves

On February 7, 2009, the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth reorganized after the departure of its bishop and other leaders from The Episcopal Church. These are some of the stories of the past four years. These stories were taken from several that were recorded by the diocesan historiographer for the diocesan archives — an ongoing project.

Texas Episcopal Priest Gives TED Talk

Last Fall, the Rev. Patrick Miller delivered a talk at Houston’s TEDx event. TED is a non-profit dedicated to spreading good ideas, most notably through videos on their website, ted.com. They feature fantastic speakers, often the experts in their field, spreading the good news of their life’s work.

Hope and Peace In a Violent World

Rabbi Matthew Gevirtz, Bishop Mark Beckwith and Imam Deen Shareet appear on a “Faith on Fridays” segment on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” They talk about the aftermath of the Newtown shootings, the times when God transcends the limits of our faith, and how working together the Newark Interfaith Coalition for Hope and Peace has reached out in the wake of the violent gun deaths of young people in their city.

Video celebrates Bishop Wallis Ohl

The Rt. Rev. C. Wallis Ohl came out of retirement to serve as the second provincial bishop of The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth at the November 2009 diocesan convention. He returned to retirement following the 2012 diocesan convention. Thank you, Bishop Ohl.  It all goes by so fast.  As we bid you farewell, go wrapped up in our love and prayers.

Integrity Fort Worth seeks help in making a video

Integrity welcomes all to help make a video for the “It Gets Better Project.” Integrity will be  making a video to help speak out against bullying GLBT teens on April 22, 2012 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church. In addition to filming the video, Mtr. Amy Haynie will celebrate Eucharist and afterward there will be a potluck supper.
