Save the Date: October 28 for “Now What?” symposium on church innovation

How can the church be creative and find new ways to use its buildings and resources? How can we innovate and find new ways to be the church?

Save the date of Friday, October 28, 2016 for a one-day conference at Northway Christian Church in Dallassave the date church innovation

A few years ago, several congregatons in our diocese participated in a Recasting Assets process coordinated by the Episcopal Church Building Fund to re-think how they were using their space and resources and to connect with their communities to see how the congregation was perceived from the outside.

Several congregations throughout The Episcopal Church have participated in this process and ecumenical conferences on “Buildings for a New Tomorrow” to consider how the church might creatively use all its resources. The focus on those events had been to introduce and stress the idea that the times call for change. That message has been received, as the conference organizers indicate:

We get it. The past is past. We need to innovate, create, find new ways to use our buildings and be the church.

“Now What?” is the next generation of the “Buildings for a New Tomorrow” conference, and is a collaboration of the building funds of five denominations: the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Presbyterian Church (USA), the United Church of Christ, and The Episcopal Church.
