Resolutions to be considered at diocesan convention (Nov. 8-9) are due to convention secretary Bruce Coggin (contact information removed) by Sept. 9. That is also the last day for online nominations for elective offices to be filled at convention.
The nomination process is open, with forms and detailed information on each office to be filled here. After the Sept. 9 deadline, additional candidates may be nominated on the floor of convention, provided they comply with the nominations requirements, listed here. At convention, once a quorum is established, the convention will vote on a nominating ballot, narrowing the field to two candidates per position.
Resolutions submitted to the convention secretary by the deadline will be disseminated to deaneries for their pre-convention meetings. The convention’s resolutions committee, chaired by Tim Stevens (St. Christopher, Fort Worth, contact information removed), will collaborate with resolution authors to ensure the resolutions are properly formatted and ready to be submitted.
