The Rev. Melanie R. Barbarito attended Bexley Hall Seminary in Rochester, NY. She was ordained deacon by the Bishop of Rochester in 1996 and ordained priest by the Bishop of Southern Ohio in 1997 where she served as curate of Church of the Redeemer in Cincinnati for five years. She was vicar of St. Francis’ Episcopal Church in Eureka, MO, from 2001 until 2009. She has since served as Pastoral Associate at All Saints’ Church in Fort Worth. She received training in what was a newly designed program, “Safeguarding God’s People, Preventing Sexual Misconduct in Congregations” and has led programs for numerous clergy and lay groups. She has served as chaplain to the victim of an alleged sexual harassment in another diocese. She also served as Chair of the Commission on Ministry in this diocese. She was the first woman priest to be canonically resident in the Diocese of Fort Worth.
