In one week, the St. Christopher Mission, Outreach & Evangelism raised enough donations to purchase 66 new coats, one for each child currently residing at the Presbyterian Night Shelter. Each coat was purchased for a specific child, with sizes ranging from 3 months to medium women’s.
Now that the coats have been delivered to the children, the next project is providing sturdy shoes before Christmas.
For years, Jackie Meeks and Sharon Whitfield of St. Simon of Cyrene have taken a hot dinner to all the residents on the fourth Saturday of each month. St. Christopher has joined the St. Simon project by adding another meal on the third Monday of each month and helping with special projects.
