Lynne Waltman to be ordained priest at All Saints’

Bishop Sam Hulsey will ordain Lynne Waltman to the priesthood at 7 pm on Wednesday, September 14 at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Fort Worth.

Waltman grew up in Lake Bluff, Illinois. She came to Texas in 1974 for graduate school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas. Her first career was as medical illustrator, which she pursued for 18 years. Her second career was in digital animation and web development. She and husband, Bill, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. The Waltmans lived for four years in Saudi Arabia where their two children were born.

Waltman was raised in the Methodist Church; she was introduced to the Episcopal Church by her husband (then fiancé) and confirmed in 1987 at All Saints’. She has served in many ministries at All Saints’ including lector, Sunday school teacher, vestry member, Stephen minister, Outreach and Mission Commission Chair, and eucharistic minister. She currently works as business manager for the church.

Waltman studied at Nashotah Theological Seminary and at Brite Divinity School, graduating from Brite in May of this year. Her supervised ministry was at St. Stephen’s, Hurst.

She is now serving at All Saints’, where she’ll continue the administrative work she has done in the past, and her ministry will now also include pastoral care and priestly functions.

Clergy are invited to vest in cassock, surplice and stole. The festal color for Holy Cross Day is red.

The All Saints’ Parish Life Commission will host a reception following the ordination.
