Andrew Ellison to be ordained priest in Marshall, TX

God willing and the people consenting, the Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr. will ordain Andrew Ellison to the priesthood at 7 pm on Thursday, September 22, 7:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall, TX. Ellison is a cradle Episcopalian, born and raised in the DFW metroplex, mostly in the Diocese of Fort Worth. He grew up at St. Mark’s in Arlington and Church of the Holy Comforter in Cleburne. Ellison attended college at Texas Tech University, graduating with a Sociology degree in 2007. He also married his high school sweetheart, Casie, and they recently celebrated their 9th anniversary. With a baby girl almost here, the Ellisons have five children; Blake, Landon, and Kensley are ages 8-4, and Nolan died in infancy in 2015. After college the Ellisons moved back to Arlington and began attending St. Peter and Paul’s, and thereafter they attended St. Alban’s Episcopal Church meeting at Theatre Arlington. He worked for a company that provided services to individuals with developmental disabilities. At St. Alban’s, Ellison served on the vestry, contributed to the long range planning committee, headed up the men’s group and was a Lay Eucharistic Visitor, and was active in the young families group. While at seminary in Austin at the Seminary of the Southwest, Ellison served at the seminary and also at St. George’s Episcopal Church. He graduated with an Master’s of Divinity degree in May. Also in May, Ellison was called to serve at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall. At Trinity, he is working primarily with families with children and youth.
