Message from Bishop High on the Sandy Hook Tragedy

Message from Bishop High on the Sandy Hook Tragedy

When I first heard the news from Connecticut, I was shocked at this horrendous tragedy. As a parent and grandparent, I feel deeply for those families in Newtown. I ask our Diocese to hold up this community in their prayers today and the days to come. As people of faith we believe those who died are in the loving hands of God. And I ask your prayers for the Rev. Mark Moore, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, adjacent to the school who has been offering pastoral care to the first responders, families, and community officials.

Bless O Lord, all those lives who have been changed forever and may we in the Christian community offer our resources of prayers and witness to this community.
