Jordan Haynie Ordained Deacon

Jordan Melissa Haynie was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons on the Feast of St. Thomas, Friday, December 21, 2012, at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church.

The Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., third provisional bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, celebrated. The Rt. Rev. C. Wallis Ohl, recently retired provisional bishop of Fort Worth, preached. Presenters were the Rev. Jim Reynolds, the Rev. Amy Haynie, Mr. Derek Ware, Dr. Maggie Abbott, Mr. Ted Clarkson, and Mrs. Lisa Neilson.

The Rev. Haynie is a native Texan who joined the Diocese of Fort Worth at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in the spring of 2009. A 2007 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, she has spent the past three years studying at Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, and hopes to finish her Master of Divinity degree in May. She is engaged to Derek Ware, a second grade teacher originally from Mississippi, and they plan to be married in June.
