It’s not too late to bring TENS to your congregation – Good news for leaders

Your congregation can host the June 6-7 webcast of “Walking the Way,” the stewardship conference presented by The Episcopal Network for Stewardship (TENS). Vestries, stewardship teams, preachers, and Christian formation teams can learn from top stewardship practitioners. Four key one-hour workshops, plus worship and three keynote addresses, can be viewed live or delayed anytime in the month of June, for as little at $75 per site.

The conference originates from Emory University in Atlanta. Featured speakers will be Sister Joan Chittister; The Rt. Rev. Robert Wright, bishop of the Diocese of Atlanta; and The Rev. Charles LaFond, canon steward at St. John’s Cathedral in Denver. The four key workshops will deal with congregational annual giving campaigns; launching a legacy society; generational stewardship; and communicating year ‘round stewardship. Karl Travis, senior pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, will offer his insights around generational differences in stewardship formation in a workshop offered live on Saturday morning.

The live webcast lasts from 12 noon to 4:15pm Friday, June 6, and from 7:30am to 3:15pm Saturday, June 7. The recorded webcast will be available 2-6:15pm CT on Friday, June 6 and 9:30am-5:15pm CT on Saturday, June 7. Your congregation can view the webcast at a time of its own choosing, anytime from June 6 until Sunday, June 29. Host congregations need high speed internet access, an appropriate size monitor or video projector, and an audio system in their viewing space.

Register online as a webcast host. Once you register, a link will be sent to you 48 hours prior to the conference, with instructions on how you can test your high speed internet connection, monitor, and audio on Thursday, June 5.

For a group of six or fewer at a viewing site, registration is $75. For more than six, the cost is $150.
