DECEMBER 3, 2013

  • Nominating Committee
    1. Elections to the nominating committee were deferred to the February 2014 meeting.
  • Convention was debriefed and discerned.
  • Executive Council Committee
    1. The meeting is to be held on December 7th.
  • The Constitutions and Cannons Committee
    1. Is looking over other diocesan constitutions and cannons.
  • Standing Committee
    1. Elinor Normand was elected chair of the standing committee. She was also elected as convener for Hispanic Ministries.
  • Life Around the Deanery
    1. St. Elisabeth’s and Christ the King are now meeting together.
    2. A successful Cursillo number 2 was held in Glen Rose.
    3. St. Christopher’s will hold a program title called “When Christmas Hurts” on December 5th at 7:00pm.
    4. Christmas concert at All Saints’ will be held on December 15th at 5:00pm.

FEBRUARY 19, 2014

  • Nominating Committee
    1. Because the deanery has been reorganized since the last meeting, all offices were vacant and needed to be filled. The new officers are listed below and were elected by acclamation:

  • Life Around the Deanery
    1. Deacon Cindy Ruiz is moving to Austin to take a position with Latino parish
    2. All Saints’ Episcopal School- admission season is seeing more applicants than spots for the high school. A fourth kindergarten section is being added. Fr. Madison has completed his D.Min from Virginia Theological Seminary. Fr. Bridge is recovering from knee surgery.
    3. A Godly Play Core training will take place at All Saints’ on March 22, 29, and April 5.
    4. Budget submissions for 2015 are due by the end of April. Contact Bob Hicks with submissions. It was noted that money had been allocated for a Lenten series for last year and for this year yet no series were, or are to be, conducted. Also, money was allocated for Godly Play Training that was never spent. A Godly Play training took place last summer at no cost to the diocese (or the hosting parish).
    5. This deanery would like to recommend to Bishop High that a member from Fort Worth West have a place on the Finance Committee. George Komechak moved that Lynne Minor be recommended for this position, it was seconded by Mollee Westfall, and decided by acclamation.

APRIL 29, 2014

  • Executive Council Report
    1. Will begin the search for a consulting firm to aid in forming a capital campaign for the church that will eventually regain their property once the suit is settled.
  1. Discussed the grant process for relief from diocesan assessment for the churches that aren’t able to make it.
  2. St. Alban’s was approved for $20,000 grant with $10,000 up front with the rest to follow.
    1. The deaneries were reorganized and work groups within the executive counsel were reassigned.
  • No Standing Committee Report
  • Life Around the Deanery
    1. St. Elisabeth’s/Christ the King owns a lot of acreage and would like to use it for a soccer field kids 12 and under, so it doesn’t have to be regulation size
      • Cost approx. $40,000.
      • Passed out Seeds of Hope to see how many people had heard of them, were surprised at how few.
  • All Saints’
    1. Belize Mission Gallery night – May 2, 2014.
    2. VBS: June 16-20.
    3. Institution of the Family Nights through the summer.

AUGUST 19, 2014

  • Executive Council Report
    1. George K. gave the bishop’s report.
    2. Bishop met in Gainesville, with a budding congregation there; met with Wichita Falls congregation; met with Archbishop in OKC.
    3. Bishop’s contract extended another year.
    4. Grants: discussed the relief of church who can’t meet their assessment
      • St. Andrews: $12,000, meeting at University Christian
      • St. Stephens: $20,000, meeting to permanent location in Hurst
  • Finance Committee,
    1. Report on budget by Bob Hicks & Dick Van Gorder.
    2. Delegates will be asked to approve the Triennial Budget at the Diocesan Convention.
    3. 2015 budget presented to Executive Council in September.
  • Constitutions and Canons overhaul
    1. Will be presented at 2014 Diocesan Convention, November 14-15.
    2. General discussion was held
  • Standing Committee report – Given by Elinor Normand.
  • Life around the Deanery
    1. CPR class will be held at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in DeWolfe Hall, September 3.
  • Change in council schedule
    1. Deanery will meet October 30 instead of October 21.
