Entertainment at the 2013 diocesan convention

Attendees at the 31st Diocesan Convention in Wichita Falls on November 8-9, 2013,  will get a chance to learn more about their host city, not only by taking the Oil Baron Tour, but also from experiencing some local entertainment at the Friday night dinner and social hour.

Dinner on Friday, November 8, will be accompanied by the Quartet of the Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra.

The Wichita Falls Youth Symphony Orchestra provides music educational opportunities for junior and senior high string, wind and percussion students. During the season, more than 50 students rehearse every week at Midwestern State University Instrumental Music Hall under the direction of Dr. Susan Harvey and Mrs. Gina Menden. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in smaller ensembles that perform for a variety of special events throughout the community. Our string ensemble generally consists of four or five students.

During the social hour following dinner, the Texas Quickstepper Cloggers will perform. The Cloggers are a nonprofit  organization formed in 2005.  This is a volunteer group that performs throughout the community and is a member of the Texas Clogging Council.   The co-artistic directors are Susie Blankenship and Rosellen Scheetz.
