Diocese offers Transition Training

Diocese offers Transition Training

Transition Training is offered Thursday, Sept.12, 6- 9:30pm  at St. Christopher Fort Worth (3550 Southwest Loop 820, Fort Worth 76133) and Saturday, Sept. 14, 9-12:30 at St. Martin-in-the-Fields (223 S. Pearson Lane, Keller 76248). What transition are we training for?

Leaders – both ordained and laity – from throughout the diocese are invited to join in preparation for returning to the buildings after the Supreme Court opinion is released – although we still have no way of knowing when that will happen.

The training will be identical at both sessions, and it is for anyone and everyone –  congregational leaders, clergy, vestry members, prayer partners, transition team members, concerned individuals – who would like to be engaged in and informed about moving forward in ministry together.

Featuring Brite Divinity School dean and executive vice president Joretta Marshall, the training will address spiritual and relational aspects of the transition.  It will include pastoral and communication training, as well as offering practical logistical plans for handling the re-entry of our various properties.  Light refreshments will be served at both trainings.

In advance of the training sessions, all are invited to submit questions about the post-opinion transition. Responses to those questions will be part of the training.  Please send questions to eleanor.doty@edotn.org or mail the question(s) to her at the diocesan offices, 4301 Meadowbrook Drive, Fort Worth, TX  76103.

For more information about the trainings, please contact Janet Waggoner, canon to the ordinary, at janet.waggoner@edotn.org or 817-880-1050.
