Diocese offers Hispanic / Latino ministry resources

Mark your calendar for Saturday, January 11, 2014, 10am to 12:30pm, when congregation leaders from across the diocese will gather at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church  for a workshop on resources and readiness for Hispanic / Latino ministry.

The Rev. Dr. Luis Bernard, director of Brite Divinity School’s Center for Latina/o Church Studies, will be leading the day, which will feature conversation about the needs, wants and expectations of the group; an introduction to Hispanic ministry; and a review of the keys to readiness for Hispanic ministry.

The day represents one of the first initiatives to come from missional conversations begun at the November diocesan convention. Bishop Rayford High is urging every congregation in the diocese to send at least two representatives to this important gathering.

The conversation on Hispanic-Latino ministry which took place at diocesan convention has launched a group that hopes to unite many streams of ministry in mutual support and collaboration.

More information about the group is available from convener Elinor Normand (contact information removed).
