A prayer for our churches and a call for Prayer Visitors

A prayer for our churches and a call for Prayer Visitors

You are invited to pray the following prayer. It is a first step in fulfilling a hope – a hope that on the first Sunday we have access to buildings after our property is returned, every church in our Diocese will have at least two people at prayer. Since there are twenty-two of our congregations already at prayer every Sunday, our emphasis will be geared toward the thirty-three congregations listed below.
O God, Jesus said to his disciples,
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few:”
Raise up those who would be Prayer Visitors, so
every Church in this Diocese will be prayed for
and worshipped in on Sunday One; through Christ our
Lord, who lives with you and the
Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. AMEN.

Through the prayer’s intention and the Holy Spirit’s nudging, we pray that a few people will discern a call to become Prayer Visitors. Becoming a Prayer Visitor will be the second step in this hope.

A Prayer Visitor is a person who

  • Commits to pray specific prayers for a particular Southern Cone congregation from now until that property is restored.
  • Agrees to invite one other person to join in that prayer.
  • Will, along with the friend, be present in that Church for four consecutive Sundays beginning with SundayOne after use of the property is restored to us.

Look at the list of congregations and then pray. Is there one congregation you sense a call to pray for? Please use the prayer below, insert the name of the congregation, and pray the prayer out loud. If you decide that you would like to be a Prayer Visitor, email your name, phone, email address and the chosen congregation to Sam McClain, marionmcclain@sbcglobal.net More information will follow.
