Lay leader Norm Snyder died December 19, 2018

Long time lay leader Norman David Snyder (Norm), died December 19, 2018 doing what he loved best — helping other people, particularly children. Gingerbread housing development at St. Christopher

The St. Mary Chapter of the  Junior Daughters of the King (JDOK) sponsored a gingerbread house making event on Sunday, December 9, immediately after St. Christopher’s 10:30 am service. Members of St. Elizabeth Chapter of DOK and other members of the parish provided candy, cereals, and other decorations for these buildings.   There were 12 houses with seven children and five adults doing the design work. Former President George H.W. Bush, 94, died Friday, November 30, 2018. His state funeral will be Wednesday, December 5, at the Episcopal Washington National Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul, followed by a more private funeral at 10 am Central Time Thursday, December 6, at his home church of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, Houston, where he and Barbara Bush worshiped for more than 50 years. Burial rites in Episcopal church offer comfort, joy, and hope

On page 506 of The Book of Common Prayer of The Episcopal Church is An Order for Burial. It lays out in clear language the order of the service, which remains essentially the same, no matter who is being buried. Everything is grounded in the hope of the Resurrection.
