President of Standing Committee seeks more nominees for open positions

A letter from the president of the Standing Committee about nominations:

We are coming to the end of the nominating process for the open positions that will be filled at Diocesan Convention November 8-9 in Wichita Falls.

The Nominations Committee informs me that five lay and two clergy nominations have been received for deputy to General Convention. It is heartening to see that so many are interested in representing the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth at the 78th General Convention in Salt Lake City. But there are several other positions for which we need nominees.

The deadline for nominations is September 9.

Nominees are needed to fill:

  • one lay and one clergy position on the Standing Committee
  • one lay position for Trustee to the University of the South, Sewanee
  • two clergy and one lay for the Disciplinary Committee
  • two more clergy nominees are required for the open Deputy positions

We have many talented people in our diocese. We ask that you prayerfully identify, encourage, and nominate those who are called to serve our diocese in these important roles in the life of our Church, including you.

We have many opportunities for ministry and growth ahead of us as we move forward in this diocese. Those opportunities require the gifts and talents of many from all regions of our diocesan church family. Access to each ministry description and additional information is available here.Your deanery representative to the Nominating Committee is available for more information, as well.

Please submit your nominations soon! There is only ONE more week to fill our ballot. Thank you to all who are willing to step forward to serve our diocese in these and other important ministries. Our shared ministry is a treasure to the life of our diocese.

Blessings and joy to you all.

Marti Fagley, President
Standing Committee
