Tarrant Area Community of Churches (TACC) offers two opportunities in January for community-wide outreach impact. Every day from January 18 to February 8, TACC will provide 300 sack lunches for day laborers working the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. And on January 20 TACC will orchestrate hundreds of volunteers’ efforts in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Congregations can help with the third annual sack lunch chuck wagon every day that the rodeo is taking place. Churches or individual volunteers can help by providing items for the lunches, or by packing lunches, or both. To sign up to help, email Linda Dyer at email@example.com, or call 817-737-5554.
On Monday, January 20, the fourth annual MLK Day of Service will begin at 8:00am with sign-in at Baker Chapel AME Church (1050 Humboldt St., Fort Worth 76104) and will end at 1pm with a no-cost lunch at Broadway Baptist Church (305 W. Broadway, Fort Worth 76104). Volunteers – adults, youth, and children – are asked to sign up for service opportunities, which range from gardening to carpentry to organizing groceries to cooking, and more. See a list of opportunities here or call 817-737-5554 for more information.
