It saddens us that so many so-called “Christian” churches have discriminated against particular groups for such a long time that we must explicitly state what should be obvious and self-evident.

In our church, women are of equal worth and dignity as men, and have full access to all orders of ministry, including the ordained priesthood and the office of bishop.

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered persons are likewise full and equal members of our church, and likewise have full access to all orders of ministry, including the ordained priesthood and the office of bishop.

Additionally, we believe that God blesses the unions of same-sex couples, and we happily participate in those blessings as a church.

We believe these things should go without saying, but we know that too often among religious people they are neither said nor done. The Episcopal Church and this Diocese are committed to the full inclusion of all people, and we have found that it has been our special privilege and blessing to provide a spiritual home to those who have come from religious traditions with less welcoming environments.

If you have had trouble finding a Christian community to call your own, please know that God loves you, and that we would very much like the opportunity to love you as well. When you are ready, you can click here to find an Episcopal parish near you.
