ClayOla Gitane ordained Saturday, December 5
Deacon ClayOla Gitane was ordained a priest on Saturday, December 5 by the Rt. Rev. Bavi Edna "Nedi" Rivera
of the Diocese of Olympia [Washington] before a joy-filled congregation at Trinity Episcopal Church, Fort Worth.
The Rt. Rev. C. Wallis Ohl, provisional bishop of the Diocese of Fort Worth, assisted. A reception was held in
the Parish Hall.
She is now priest-in-charge of two congregations that have been temporarily displaced from their buildings – Christ the King, now worshipping at St. Giles Presbyterian Church (Fellowship Hall), 8700 Chapin Road, Fort Worth; and the Episcopal Church in Parker County which includes members from St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church (Willow Park), All Saints' Episcopal Church (Weatherford) and the Church of the Holy Apostles (Fort Worth). They worship at McCall Elementary School, 400 Scenic Trail in Willow Park. We invite you to view fabulous photographs of the event, taken by Lefty Brandon. And if you were unable to attend, here is a copy of the sermon that was delivered during the service by Roy L. Heller, Ph.D. Finally, here is an article that appeared in the Weatherford Democrat.
