Gifts and Donations to the Archives

Leedy and Ohl

David Leedy, Historiographer for the Diocese of Fort Worth, thanks the following organizations for providing brochures and other materials for the Archive’s exhibit at the Diocesan Convention on November 14th as well as for the Archives: The National Archives of the Episcopal Church, Episcopal Women’s History Project, the National Episcopal Historians and Archivists, and The Historical Society of the Episcopal Church. Extra brochures are available to any Parish or Mission within the Church and Mr. Leedy would be only to happy to appear before any group and describe the mission of the Archives of the Diocese of Fort Worth, The Episcopal Church.

He would also like to report the receipt of the following gifts to the Archives and gratitude to the following: Mr. Steve Fleming for the gift of time and materials; David Lindsey, St. Christopher’s, for the gift of the book he authored: "The Saints and Symbols of All Saints "; the Rev. Bert Honea, a long time member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Fort Worth and now a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, Fort Worth, for the gift of the book: "History of St. Andrew’s "; Mr. Lefty Brandon and Ms. Katie Sherrod for the gift of the book "Remembering the Joy "; Ms. Sarah Walker for the gift of the CD "Great Hymns of the Faith, " recorded September 25, 2004 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church; Fort Worth Via Media for the gift of the book "To Set Our Hope on Christ – A Response to the Invitation of the Windsor Report "; and to Barbara Turner, Historiographer for the Diocese of Dallas and Secretary of the National Episcopal Historians and Archivists for the following gifts: "Episcopal Clerical Directory " for 2007, 2005 and 2003, "Episcopal Innovations 1960-2004 " by The Rev. Dr. Peter Toon M.A., D. Phil.; "Alexander Gregg of Texas " by Arthur Ben Chitty, and "The Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, A Centennial Narrative History, " by The Very Reverend C. Preston Wiles, Ph.D. Additionally, Ms. Turner has given us a research paper she prepared dated February 1993, entitled: "African-American Presence in the Diocese of Dallas as Recorded in the Diocesan Convention Journals 1926 – 1949 as well as many journals, pamphlets, and other materials. All of these are available for study and research by both clergy and laity in the Archives of the Diocese of Fort Worth, currently housed at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 3550 Southwest Loop 820, Fort Worth, TX 76133.
