Bp. FreyThe Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Katherine Jefferts Schori, and the Rt. Rev. William (Bill) C. "One of the strengths of the Episcopal Church is its ability to openly discuss and accept differing points of view within the Anglican Communion," said the Rev. Dr. Robert S. Dannals, rector of Saint Michael and All Angels Church. "This Distinguished Lecture emphasizes that while there are divergent views, we remain members of one Body…the Body of Christ." Dr. Dannals, with the support of the Rt. Rev. James Stanton, Bishop of the Diocese of Dallas, invited Bishop Jefferts Schori and Bishop Frey to participate in the Distinguished Lecture.

Bishop Jefferts Schori, who was elected to lead the Episcopal Church in the United States in 2006, is the first woman elected as a primate of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Bishop Frey, the longest serving Bishop in the Anglican Communion, is a leader of the church’s traditional wing. He currently serves as Assisting Bishop of the Diocese of the Rio Grande, which covers part of west Texas and all of New Mexico.

On Saturday evening at 5:00 PM, Bishop Jefferts Schori will celebrate a communitywide Holy Communion at The Canterbury House, the Episcopal college ministry on the SMU campus. The Canterbury House is located at 3308 Daniel.

On Sunday, December 13, Bishop Frey will be preacher and Bishop Jefferts Schori will celebrate Holy Communion at the 8:50 AM service at Saint Michael and All Angels. At the 11:00 AM service, Bishop Jefferts Schori will be the preacher, with Bishop Frey serving as celebrant.

Saint Michael and All Angels, located at 8011 Douglas at Colgate, is one of the largest Episcopal Churches in the United States with more than 7,000 members. Here is a link to their site:
