Dear friends,
In light of the recent tragedy in Charleston, our city has responded with a unified outpouring of sympathy, compassion, support and prayer. There have been a number of prayer vigils and memorials in churches and in gatherings all over the city.
Many of the leaders in our faith community have expressed the need for a citywide call to prayer, and I couldn’t agree more. So on Tuesday, June 30th at 7:00 pm I invite you to join me, along with the Multicultural Alliance and other members of our faith community, for a citywide call to prayer at Broadway Baptist Church. This will simply be an opportunity for everyone to come together under one roof and express our solidarity with the city of Charleston through prayer.
