Conference for church administrators

Conference for church administrators

Church administrators, including treasurers, communicators, chancellors, church office staff, and clergy are the intended audience for an inter-denominational conference of The Church Network scheduled for July 6-8 at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. Get more details and register online.

Christopher Thomas, currently serving as administrator of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Dallas and previously administrator in the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, is a long-time member of the organization and recommends it highly:

I have been an active member of The Church Network (TCN) for over 22 years, and I can only begin to express how important it has been to carrying out the ministry of church administration in the congregations that I have served.  The areas which administration impacts, as well as the swiftly changing nature of those areas, necessitates some resource where we as administrators can go for explanation, advice, support, and networking.

The Church Network is an inter-denominational organization of more than 2,500 administrative leaders in churches across the US. The organization offers conferences and events, continuing education, networking, and other resources.

In Fort Worth and in Dallas, TCN local chapters meet on the third Thursday of each month during the lunch hour to offer educational topics and a chance to network with other church administrators. National conferences are held annually around the country, coming to North Texas only about every five years, making this year’s conference an excellent opportunity.

The event will also offer education and networking around issues specific to Episcopal Churches, Thomas said:

Church Pension Group (CPG) is providing educational content on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Risk Management and Disaster Planning, both which affect each and every congregation.  CPG is also hosting an Episcopal reception as well as a dinner.
