Fort Worth Congregations working with the Episcopal Church Building Fund

The Episcopal Church Building Fund’s Recasting of Building Assets program is working with six congregations in Fort Worth to work through a year-long assessment of their individual situations. The ECBF’s Recasting of Building Assets process focuses on congregations who wish to deepen their connection to their community and to build mission and value, as well as develop financial self-sustainability through the creative use of assets — people, buildings, relationships, and more. Bishop to Preach at Brite Divinity School

The Rt. Rev. Rayford B. High, Jr., Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, will be celebrating Holy Eucharist and preaching at Brite Divinity School’s weekly chapel service on November 19, at 11:00 am. Brite Divinity School is an interdenominational seminary affiliated with Texas Christian University and the Disciples of Christ. Diocesan Outreach

At the 2013 Diocesan Convention (November 8-9 in Wichita Falls), diocesan treasurer Robert Hicks reported to convention delegates that in 2013 the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth gave $17,785 to outreach causes beyond the diocese and $15,158 within the diocese, for a total charitable giving of $32,943 – 6.39 percent of assessment. An additional $29,546.41 was received and passed on for disaster relief, ERD, and UTO.

Election Results from Diocesan Convention 2013

The 2013 Diocesan Convention November 8-9 in Wichita Falls elected new members of the Standing Committee, deputies and alternates to General Convention, and filled positions on the Disciplinary Board, and elected a lay Trustee to the University of the South, Sewanee. Bob Johnson obituary

Bob Johnson, husband of Linda Johnson, former diocesan registrar and assistant to the treasurer of the diocese, died Saturday, November 9, 2013. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 16, at All Saints School Chapel, 9700 Saints Circle, Fort Worth, Texas 76108. There will be barbecue at the Johnson’s home, 7905 Sandy Shores Court, Fort Worth, TX, 76179, following the funeral. Dutch organist and harpsichordist in concert Nov. 15 at All Saints’, Fort Worth

Dutch organist and harpsichordist Robert August will perform in concert at 7:30 pm, on Friday, November 15, 2013, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 5001 Crestline Road, Fort Worth. Dr. August will play All Saints’ magnificent 5 manual Garland Pipe Organ as well as the harpsichord.  Dr. August will be joined in the concert by his wife, the well-known flutist Dolores August.
